Welcome to Kala Anubhav
This is an innovative platform dedicated to the convergence of art & craft. It was officially launched on October 26, 2023, and proudly presented by the Jodhpur City Knowledge & Innovation Foundation (JCKIF). Established on March 31, 2021, as a Section 8 company under the Companies Act 2013, our primary objective is to bolster the initiatives of the Jodhpur City Knowledge & Innovation Foundation (JCKIF). Spearheaded by the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, JCKIF is committed to fostering an "Atmanirbhar Bharat" (self-reliant India) through advancements in science & technology.
As the nodal agency for JCKIF, the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (IITJ) collaborates with major academic institutions, R&D institutes, national and state research labs, government agencies, and industry partners from Jodhpur and its surroundings. We act as facilitators, thus creating strong linkages to drive progress and innovation.
Below are some of the JCKIF initiatives:
- 1. A digital archive preserving the indigenous craft heritage of Jodhpur and nearby areas.
- 2. An ethical value chain for the sustainable livelihood of independent craftsmen.
- 3. A framework for relevant designs in new product development.
- 4. A micro-incubation facility for local craft artisans and potters.
- 5. A need-assessment workshop series on "Crafts, Tourism, and the Pandemic."
- 6. Focus on grassroots' interaction through extensive field visits & trust-building exercises.
